Meet Cianna!

Cianna Walker is a proud Walbunja and Gumbaynggirr saltwater woman, musician, Indigenous Student Advancement Officer, creative, and aspiring education leader living and working on Gadigal Country. Having recently completed a Bachelor of Music (Honours) at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Cianna's work is grounded in community, cultural knowledge, lived experience, and a strong commitment to equity, justice, and collective empowerment.

As an artist, Cianna is an emerging force in the Australian music industry, redefining contemporary First Nations music through a genre-fluid approach that blends soul, country, folk, and R&B. Drawing inspiration from a diverse range of musical influences, she performs in several Aboriginal languages, including her own Gumbaynggirr language, weaving culture, identity, storytelling, and community into her music. Through performances at major national events, cultural festivals, and community gatherings across NSW, Cianna creates spaces for connection, cultural exchange, and celebration of the richness of First Nations peoples.

Alongside her creative practice, Cianna is passionate about fostering supportive, culturally safe, and accessible environments where people from all backgrounds can thrive. While much of her professional work focuses on strengthening pathways and opportunities for First Nations students, she is equally driven by a broader commitment to educational equity, representation, leadership development, and social justice.

As an aspiring education leader, Cianna is deeply interested in the role education plays in shaping opportunity, belonging, and social change. Through both scholarship and creative practice, she examines how the arts, culture, and education can serve as powerful tools for reclamation, resistance, and resurgence, amplifying First Nations voices and preserving cultural knowledge for future generations.

Cianna is passionate about contributing to a more inclusive and equitable future through her work as an artist, educator, advocate, and emerging leader.
